My desk for this week has nothing going on at all. Nada. Nowt. But I did realise, looking at last weeks picture, that when I showed the stamps I bought, pretty much none of them were visible. Bit pointless really. So I thought that as my desk was bare, I'd lay them out and show you.
A few more of my favourite Visible Image stamps.
This Clarity set looked like it would be a useful addition for scenic stamping.
Final item is something I forgot about last week, as it was still inside a bag.
Glitter. How could I miss that?
Some nice orange shades, which seems to be sadly lacking in glitter colours, although there are quite a few in the Barbara Trombelli range. A nice variety of purples- you can never have too much purple, I say. And the obligatory black.
One or two thoughts on the NEC- its getting smaller every time I go, I find. And there are less stamping companies attending every year. Quite a few of the big names were noticeable by their absence this time round, and a lot of others had much smaller spaces than they usually do. Looks like Hobbycrafts is pricing people out of taking part.
So that's me done, I'm not working tonight,(Tuesday) I'm absolutely shattered. So glad this is my final week of treatment, its getting to me now. I was quite wiped out over the weekend, I slept till midday on Saturday, then went back to sleep at 3.00 till 6.00, and was back in bed by 10.30, and slept till midday on Sunday. All I've been thinking about since I got up is going back to bed, so that's where I'm off now. Only 4 more treatments, and until at least Thursday, when I see the Oncologist, I'm off the Chemo tablets. One of the side effects you are supposed to tell them about is getting sore hands/feet, and for the last few days the balls of my feet have been quite sore. Like when you've been wearing heels for too long? Or had the seam of your socks/tights under the ball of your foot? Anyway, I phoned them and told them, and I've not to take any more till I see Dr Sothi on Thursday. And I also now have 6 weeks worth of Vitamin E tablets to take for it!

WOW Shaz, I want to come to your house and help you break open all those luscious stamps and have a good play. You can put your sore feet up and watch, if you can keep your eyes open.......grin
Hope things keep going uphill for you. I have a close friend that is at the beginning of the same thing. Just had her surgery last week.

How lovely to see all those fab stamps close up..I have the toadstools (my only Lavinia stamp!) it is gorgeous. I agree about the card-io stamps, they make great cards - if you can do them like she does! which reminds me, I bought a pack for Christmas cards... wonder where I put them... Helen 4 oh, and hope the last treatment goes well and your feet stop hurting!
Chemo is a bugger! There are no nice words for how it makes you feel. However, if it is going to nail this C of yours, then I guess it is all worth it in the end! I Know what you mean about the show getting smaller. Ours eventually vanished for 6 years and came back this year with only one stamp company, one scrap shop...basically one of each type of craft. Not like it used to be. I think the stands are very expensive and the stores are dwindling. It is the same the world over. Even CHA is only once a year now!
Good morning, Earlybird! What a wonderful stash of new stamps - I particularly like the square, wordy Christmas one. Hopefully, they will get your creative juices flowing, as well as take your mind off the treatment. Glad you can see the end of the course, but sorry it's knocking your stuffing out. WOW I know I saw a lot of stamps last week but WOW! love all the glitter you managed to gather up too! I am sorry to hear the chemo is affecting you adversely with the sore feel and fatigue. Just thing positively about it…feet hurt enough you don't want to be up and about anyway…I know smack me! I hated it when everybody told me to think positive after my cancer surgery…luckily I didn't have to do chemo cause the got it all. Thanks for sharing your new stash. Have a great week. Vickie #17

I was SO disappointed in the Newbury stamps show this year, the closest one and one I always go to. Not their fault, it was the organizer that let them down and the 20 stalls they managed were the result of some serious last minute hustle. I'll give them a chance next year but my room is overflowing as it is so I stick to that one, usually, missing out the big ones. Sometimes I regret not making the effort, when I see stash like yours and Helen's, so interesting to hear your assessment.
Not much fun, the treatment side effects. Hopefully they will stop when the treatments do!

You are so sensdible to buy two sizes of the sentiments..seeing those was a right old 'doh' moment for me! And I think I'd have bought exactly the same VI stamps too! Bear up gal..it's only because you aren't used to living a sleepful life...it will be done v soon now. Bet Doug can do the route blindfolded too, bless him. Happy WOYWW. Lovely selection of stamps and glitter, and exactly why I went mainly digital with my crafting, as I would be bankrupt and buried under a pile of stash by now! Sorry to hear about your sore feet, but glad the rest is going so well. You are right about that Clarity set, I use different elements from it all the time. One thing I noticed about the NEC this year was the proliferation of dies - they were everywhere, but very few punches. I did not get as far as the Crafts for Christmas hall at all, and that was in two days. I also reckon that Create and Craft are doing a fair bit to cut down the competition throughout the crafting industry. Speak soon. xxx Maggie
Wonderful haul of stamps and stencils Shaz, you got some beauties. Love the MB dies from the previous post too, they were certainly a bargain. Glad to hear the treatment is almost complete, sorry about the sore feet though, maybe ask Hubby for a foot massage!

Hi Shaz, no matter how upbeat you try to sound your chemo regime sounds grueling so it's just as well you have the distraction of all those fabulous stamps. The glitter is super too - I treated myself to quite a few of those little bags of gorgeousness at the Hobbycraft show a couple of years ago and I'm still using it! I've noticed that the turnout at the Glasgow craft show has been on the decline too and discovered through chats with a couple of the exhibitors that the cost of a stand is becoming too much for many. Some are even sharing a stand to keep the cost down. Such a shame. Hope you have a good week and that your feet get more comfortable too. Hugs, Elizabeth x #46
If ya gotta sleep, then off to bed with you. The treatment is bound to catch up with you at some point, although you have been amazing. The sore feet thing is weird! I wonder why that happens? I can't believe that there are only four treatments left...that's gone quick.

You will not be bored, the time coming with this stash of stamps. Sorry for the problems with the cancer therapy. I have cancer myself since 7 years and my meds are also giving me a hard time. Art helps not to focus too much on the illness. I hope you can get rid of these problems soon.

Wow, I didn't realise how detailed stamps can be. That eye had me mesmerised and I love those toadstools. Hang in there with the treatment, my friend has just gone through it and is (happily) out the other side and now clear.

That's a lot of new stamps to break in! Love the glitter colors.
Chemo is such a hard thing to go through. I've heard of chemo causing atrophy in feet and hands but not so much the pain, only numbness. I hope the Vitamin E works -- get your hubby to break open some of the caplets and rub the vitamin E into your feet - a nice mini pedicure. I hope the chemo is doing it's work and will soon end for you.

Shaz, thanks so much for making the effort to visit me this week for WOYWW, when you are feeling so poorly. I know exactly the sort of fatigue you are experiencing - people who do not suffer from medically induced fatigue think it's just "feeling a bit tired" but the profound exhaustion has to be experienced to be understood. I read what you wrote on your cancer page about the loss of stamina and I know only too well on a daily basis what this is like. Take time to rest and don't fight it - it only makes it worse!! I do hope this unpleasant side effect of the medication will soon pass off. I have been thinking about you a lot and wondering how you were getting on.

As for the pan pastels, I bought mine when I got an unexpected refund for something, and got a very basic set of primaries and a couple more - they are very expensive for what they are!! Lovely and smooth to use, though, and you can add them individually as you need, and as you can afford them. I've only just started using mine and am thrilled with how beautifully they blend - a great addition to my mixed media armoury.

Hi Shaz, some great stamps there! I have some of the inkylicious ones - love them, and I tried the dry baby wipe inking method used by Wendy of Majestix. Still prefer my ink dusters!
So glad this stage of your treatment is finished & think the sleep is a necessary part after your body has been thru so much.
